Our Precinct

The heart of Federal Mills

The boiler house is at the centre of the historic Federal Woollen Mills which has undergone an award-winning revitalisation into a thriving professional precinct.

The Federal Woollen Mills was opened with great fanfare in 1915. The biggest industrial operation in Geelong at the time, the mills produced everything from military uniforms, to Qantas fabrics and fashions of the day. At its peak, the mills employed over 950 workers.

Revitalising History

After undergoing an award-winning restoration by the Hamilton Group, the site is now revered locally as ‘Federal Mills’.

We join a new generation of forward-thinking businesses and industries as part of the ‘Pivot City’ precinct, and are flanked by over 50 innovative organisations that employ more than 1,100 people.
